Inside your head

Feel inside

“All that you see out in front of you is how you feel inside your head.”
Alan Watts

This quote really speaks to me today. I’ve noticed lately how I attract exactly what I need. It’s not always the most positive experiences, but it feels like every inner impulse of mine is met exactly with a mirror or an answer. Do you notice that in your life? That’s what it feels like to be in the flow.

I had a really emotionally draining day yesterday. As some of you might know a long term relationship has ended for me a few months back and I’m dating. The interesting thing about it is that I’m poly (open marriage) and it adds an extra level of difficulty to this process… Pile an anxious-leaning attachment style on top of it and it’s quite a combo lol (P. Yesterday, two of the closest ‘budding connections’ I was experiencing and excited about have ended within 1 hour of each other. Naturally, I cried a river (as I usually do lol), but I also mindfully focused on the emotions as they expanded inside my body – the pain, anger, ruined expectations and simultaneously gratitude for having been in touch, connected and learning so much about myself. And I was amazed at how I could hold both in me – incredible, expanding feeling of gratitude and painful sensation of loss. Blown away. How do you experience relating?
