Interesting perspective, I’ve been recently thinking of two ways emotions are typically suggested to process:
- One is – embracing, naming and letting them pass through us. Associating ourselves with a witnessing aspect and focusing on becoming a vessel for these to express and leave
- Second approach is to change the thought patterns prior to even experiencing emotions. I. e. trying to see the situation from a different angle which shifts the emotional reaction – similar to how Rumi suggest it in the above quote.
