If the ocean can calm itself

How do you calm yourself? For me at times it gets pretty tough… Here are a few techniques I tend to use. Please share yours <3

The latest great breathing technique I have just learned is this:

  • Sit comfortably, start focusing inwardly on your breath
  • Slowly take in a full deep belly breath
  • Hold it for as long as you can
  • Slowly breathe out
  • Repeat for as long as necessary and comfortable (these don’t have to be forceful – slow and steady is great)
  • This breathing technique jump starts your Parasympathetic nervous system so you can leave the stress response behind and settle into a more comfortable, relaxed state of being.
